Join Chattanooga Down Syndrome Society and all our friends at Riverview Park off Hixson Pike on October 10 as we celebrate National Down Syndrome Awareness Month with a fun one-mile walk through the scenic neighborhood by the golf course adjoining the park.   Registration begins at 11:00, and the walk will kick off at 11:30, followed by a Pizza Luncheon, generously provided again this year by Mr. T's.  We'll have inflatables, t-shirts, prizes, candy apples, and lots of fun!  Register and join the team of your favorite person with Down syndrome!

The Buddy Walk is the primary fundraiser for CDSS, and goes to fund all our other events during the year, including the Celebration of Abilities, various social and educational activities, the newsletter, and the website, among others.  There will be a prize awarded for the biggest team at the buddy walk.  Help us make this event a huge success by sending this page to all your friends, family members, coworkers, and others that you would like to have on your team!  You'll find links above for your favorite easy methods of online communication- email, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and more.

*Registration the day of the event will be $15.00 individual, $35.00 families, so save money and register now!

If you wish to avoid ticket fees, you may send a check for your registration to CDSS, c/o Judy Field, 3104 Pintail Lane, Signal Mountain, TN 37377, no later than October 5, 2009.  Make sure to include your name, email and postal mail addresses, the name of any other attendees you are registering, and the name of the person with Down syndrome on whose team you are registering.

While we accept registrations right up to the morning of the event, we have to order t-shirts at least two weeks in advance.  Last year, several people did not register until the day of the event, resulting in a shortage of t-shirts.  In the event of a shortage this year, t-shirts will be distributed in the order that people register.  THEREFORE, IF IT IS IMPORTANT TO YOU THAT YOU RECEIVE A T-SHIRT, YOU SHOULD PREREGISTER AT LEAST TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO THE EVENT.   We want to make sure that this year, we have t-shirts for everyone who wants them, so please preregister as soon as possible!
